Board of Directors
Shaun Paul, Co-Chair
Mr. Paul is co-founder & Executive Director of EcoLogic Development Fund. He has 20 years experience in rural Latin American economic development, environmental protection, and natural resource management. Mr. Paul has held positions with the United Nations Non-Governmental Organization Liaison Service, the UN Development Program, and the Inter-American Foundation. He has a M.A. in natural resource/development economics from the Univ. of Michigan and a B.A. in international relations from American Univ.
Khamila O'Reilly, Co-Chair
Ms. O’Reilly is a board member of the Pico Bonito National Park Foundation (FUPNAPIB) as well as a facilitator for the National Association for the Promotion of Ecological Agriculture (ANAFAE) - a Honduran association of non-governmental organizations with more than 25 members whose goal is to strengthen the capacities of its members to contribute to sustainable rural development. She has deep knowledge and experience in local community development in association with sound environmental and biodiversity practices.
Robert L. Lapides, CEO
Mr. Lapides is the principal of Robert L. Lapides Co., LLC – a specialized private equity investment and advisory firm based in Wellesley, Massachusetts. His areas of expertise include: new fund establishment, private equity financings, portfolio company oversight, strategic relationships, and successful exit strategies. His work includes advisory, co-investment, and ongoing representation for the benefit of private equity funds, investing institutions, and high net worth individuals. He has over 20 years of experience in the private equity and nonprofit sector. He serves as advisor and/or board director to a variety of several private equity groups, operating companies, and nonprofit organizations.
Winstead Rouse
Mr. Rouse is a Board Director of EcoLogic Development Fund. He is also a partner with Struever Bros. Eccles & Rouse, Inc. where he is in charge of residential development. Mr. Rouse also serves as Chairman of the American Visionary Art Museum, a Co-Chair of the Waterfront Promenade Committee for the Living Classrooms Foundation, and Board Member of the Jim & Patty Rouse Charitable Foundation, the American Bird Conservancy and the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.

Rafael Sambulá Morales, General Manager
Mr. Sambula Morales has held a number of senior technical, consulting, and management positions for both for-profit enterprises as well as non-governmental organizations and United Nations/government funded development organizations. In addition to working with and for the Pico Bonito National Park and Ecologic Development Fund in various capacities, he has served in the past as Executive Director PROLANSATE, Executive Secretary of TRIGOH, and Regional Manager of the Secretariat of Livestock, Olanchito. He holds a joint degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Centro Universitario Regional del Litoral Atlantico and Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Honduras. He also has completed post-graduate studies from the Centro Internacional de Agricultura Tropical in Colombia.
Abraham Martinez, Forestry Manager
Mr. Martinez is responsible for all forestry activities and coordination including the reforestation as well as the restoration and preservation activities of the company.
Eliecer Murillo, Assistant Forestry Manager
Mr. Murillo is a forestry engineer whose main responsibilities are the proper seed selection and nursery management of the various tree species to be utilized throughout the reforestation activities of the company.
Edwin Jaros, Environmental Research Consultant
Mr. Jaros has worked on the Pico Bonito Project since its inception. He has thirteen years experience in environmental research, working on a remanufacturing facility in Boston, MA on hazardous waste site assessments and remediation for the Geotechnical Group/Environmental Inc., and on hazardous waste legislation which was passed by the Massachusetts State Legislature. He holds a degree in Public Policy from the University of Massachusetts at Boston, and a Masters Degree in Hazardous Materials Management from Tufts University as well as having done graduate studies in Environmental Planning at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Hector Ulloa, Accounting Manager
Mr. Ulloa is responsible for all financial and accounting management of the company. In addition to his role with Bosques Pico Bonito, he also is chief administrator of the Pico Bonito National Park Foundation as well as the Red Cross of La Ceiba.
Milagros Bernabo, Communications Coiordinator
Ms. Bernabo is responsible for coordination of communications activities between the various locations of company activities – both in the U.S. and Honduras. She holds a bachelors degree from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
Carlos Miranda, Administrative Assistant
Mr. Miranda coordinates all logistical and operational activities of the company. He also acts as a technical specialist with respect to office communication and computer systems.
